We are all being saturated by media coverage, and we understand it may be causing concern to our RTO Students and Trainers. We can assure you that currently, all PADI RTO services are operating based on regularly updated advice from ASQA, the skills councils and the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC). The COVID-19 situation is unprecedented in many ways, making it dynamic and challenging to navigate and manage through for everybody. All our RTO Trainers must be following local governmental advice, practice good social hygiene and stay up-to-date. For additional information on steps to prevent illness, the World Health Organisations (WHO) is a valued resource.

PADI RTO Trainers have implemented additional measure such as a risk assessment to consider whether the training is urgent and essential in the context of current social distancing and societal restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. Where training is essential, Trainers must undertake the necessary adjustments to help minimise the risk of spreading the virus. Trainers are to use your professional judgement in assessing the competence of students’ capacity to perform CPR under these new circumstances but all Trainers must still assess against all aspects of CPR as per the unit of competency requirements from the HLT training package.

Be well, stay healthy and thank you for your support.
